As the head of the marketing department for a chain of 6 health clubs, my duties included marketing strategy, planning, budget estimates, designing, producing and analyzing advertising projects. Produced television commercial campaigns, designed and placed weekly newspaper ads, monthly magazine ads, billboards, banners, posters, video and still photo shoots. Had overall creative input on the look and content of the website. Issued reports on multiple projects and all advertising related expenses. Negotiated advertising rates for cable and network stations, contracts with newspapers, magazines and suppliers for every advertising project big and small.
Dinair Airbrush Makeup
April 2003 – February 2005 (1 year 11 months)
Working very closely with the owner, Dina Ousley, we developed ad campaigns and trade show graphics for her innovative airbrush makeup line. Projects include brochures, manuals, price lists, banners, trade show displays. Produced a workshop video and instructional DVD. Also wrote and designed the users manual and other collateral materials. Creative redesign of the website. www.dinair.com.

Worked on restaurant menus and signage for several chain locations including: Johnny Carinos, Ruby’s Diner, Bruggers Bagels, On the Border and more. Also designed several shared mail print campaigns as traffic boosters with coupons.

Managed the advertising for a chain of 6 furniture stores. My duties included marketing, planning, budget estimates, designing and fulfilling advertising products for all locations. Designed and delivered weekly newspaper ads, monthly magazine ads, truck graphics, billboards, banners, showroom displays, credit card applications, photo shoots and the website. Issuing reports on multiple projects and all advertising related expenses. Responsible for photo retouching, original art in Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator. Negotiated all rates and contracts with newspapers, magazines and suppliers for all advertising costs.

I worked as the art director for Nailpro/Nailpro Europe magazine, a 150 page trade publication catering to nail salons and the beauty industry. Responsible for all art production pre-press and corrections for editorial pages. Also placed ads into templates for reproduction. Responsible for direction on photo shoots and web site updates and content. www.nailpro.com Often creating original art openers for stories and features.

Worked as the art director for PC mall Magazine. A computer equipment catalog that published 150 pages every 3 weeks. Managed work flow for 5 graphic artists and oversaw release of art to the printer.

Mike McNeilly and I met as I was getting out of college. As Mr. McNeilly’s assistant, I became an valuable asset to his company. As a team, we produced catalogs for many well known retail department stores. As his assistant, I was his photo stylist and coordinator for his catalog business. A very interesting character that I will never forget.
